London based artist, Llum de Palau, has been developing speculative fiction storytelling for the past several years through different media such as comics, illustration, painting, installations, music, writing and moving-image as tools for generating alternative narratives outside the norm.

She has a deep interest in prehistoric anthropology, which influences all her work in many ways. To Llum, the very far past and future (or alternate realities) all embody the essence of speculative fiction.

Body agency and community alliance, queer care and vulnerability as revolutionary acts. She sees her practice as a place of queer resistance. A playground where perception and expectations are continually challenged.

Her work has been exhibited internationally in countries such as Spain, UK, Italy and Japan. She has also given lectures and workshops at several universities such as The Royal College of Arts, Goldsmiths, Camberwell College of Arts and Canterbury University for the creative arts.
